Spelt is an ancient grain, an 8,000-year-old relative of durum wheat that originated in present-day Iran. From the near-East, it spread rapidly throughout Europe, becoming especially popular in Germany.
Our whole spelt berries may be used as you would wheat berries, in grain bowls and breakfast bowls.
Great to use whole in grain bowls, grain pilafs, soups, and stews. Or you can mill these berries into flour for pancakes, muffins, cookies, breads, crackers, and pasta.
