This is our Internationally awarded cold-extracted extra virgin olive oil made from olives picked by hand on our family farm in Umbria, the “Green Heart of Italy.”
Most of our 1,300 trees are 400 years old, making Rastrello a heritage blend. We harvest early in the season, which increases the polyphenols in our olive oil and makes the flavors and aromas richer and more complex.
A high-quality extra virgin olive oil normally has between 100-250 mg/kl of polyphenols. Rastrello’s polyphenol count is consistently tested over 650.
Our olive cultivars include: moraiolo, frantoio, leccino, pendolino, dolce agogia, rosciola dell’Umbria, and nero di Panicale. This is a typical blend found exclusively in the Lago Trasimeno area.
