Highlights

Our Sourdough Walnut & Cranberry bread is a sourdough loaf made with organic flour, cranberry, and toasted walnuts. A loaf with a thick, golden crust. It pairs perfectly with Brie, Camembert, or Vacherin cheeses. Try it also in desserts such where the walnuts complement pears, strawberries, or chocolate.

Size: 8" long or approx. 20 oz (weight may very as each loaf is handcrafted)

Ingredients

Ingredients: flour, levain (flour, water), water, salt, roasted walnuts, and dried cranberries (cranberries, sunflower oil, sugar).

Special Note

We don't recommend slicing this loaf as it will reduce its shelf life. It is best to slice as needed and it will taste better and last longer.

How to Store

We recommend keeping your bread uncovered on your counter rather than in the fridge or a plastic bag. We place our loaves cut side down, so that the crumb isn't exposed to air, while the crust slowly stales.* In a sealed plastic bag, the crust will soften, as the moisture from the bread has nowhere to go, eventually leading to a moldy loaf.

If you don't expect to finish your loaf before it stales, freeze it in a plastic bag. Slice it first, to make toasting ever more convenient.

Revive your stale loaf in the oven at 175°F for 15-20 minutes.

*Technical note: Staling has nothing to due with water loss, as bread actually only loses about 1% of water content as it ages. Rather, the gelatinized starch molecules form into crystalline regions, causing a tightening effect on the bread. By reheating it, you can temporarily disrupt the less stable regions of the chains comprising the starch molecules.

Great bread and service!

Initially found them as a blog review. We were looking for good sourdough bread. We ordered two loaves to try it and now we regularly order in batches of 10 and sometimes we end up ordering more in between. If you love sourdough bread, the home made taste and dependable timely deliveries, keep us coming back again and again.!

Not fresh.

Sorry to hear the bread did not arrive fresh with the free ground shipping to New Jersey. Unfortunately it is not a guaranteed service by UPS and although it should have taken 3 days, it seems that it took longer. Otherwise, we shipped your bread freshly baked on the day we took it to UPS.

Next bread ever!! Delicious! Great toasted with cheese or butter.
I absolutely love all the breads that are made in this bakery, and my favorite is the walnut and cranberry bread. It’s made the way bread is supposed to be with very few essential ingredients and nothing else to mess it up. It is wonderful to find a bakery that knows how to make real bread the old-fashioned way.. Most importantly it is the most delicious bread that I’ve had and I love all of them so much! There is something to be said about natural ingredients and keeping the ingredients just fthose that are necessary for making bread, the old-fashioned way without any enrichments or added anything that is not necessary . That’s why their breads taste so good because it taste like the way bread is supposed to taste, like bread, and not chemicals. The owners and their relatives and people who work there are all extremely friendly and wonderful, and we wished him all the best with their bread and their business. I hope they can open a storefront to make it easier for people to go buy, and purchase bread on a regular basis Right at their bakery.
If I have to rate this spread from one to 10, I would definitely give it a 10+ and recommended to all my friends and family which I’ve already done!!! Best bread in town!
